Learning is Fun!

This week our class has been doing a great job at literacy stations. We practiced reading and writing our color words and the sight words "I" and "see". We learned about the letter Mm on Starfall.com. We are learning all about how to use laptops and the internet. We read the book In the Big Blue Sea and wrote a book together about fish we see. Tomorrow we are going to paint fish for our class book. What ocean animal is your favorite?

In math we are making patterns. Bryce said, "Patterns can happen over and over again, like diamond, octagon, diamond, octagon." Celeste said, " Bryce's patterns is an AB Pattern." Bryce and Celeste are really good at patterns! What are some other patterns you know?

Our first class post!

Ms. Orozco's Kinderfriends are so excited to be writing our first post to our blog! We are also excited to see comments written by Ms. Orozco's friends and families and our own families.

This week we are learning about colors. We are reading books about colors, reading and writing color words and singing some fun songs to help us spell color words. We made a graph of our favorite colors. Our class liked red the most and brown the least. What is your favorite color?

In math we are learning about position words like before, after, between, left and right. We made up a game to help us practice the words.

In Social Studies we are learning all about Maps and Globes. We learned that Globes are round like a ball and maps are flat like paper. They both tell us where land and water are and how to find somewhere we need to go. We are using Google Earth to look at different places. We think it is so cool! Please let us know of any interesting places where you have lived so we can find them.
